North West Highlands Geopark
The North and West of Sutherland are home to some of the most interesting and beautiful landscapes in the world. UNESCO granted Global Geopark status to this area thanks to it's outstanding geology and the will of the local people to manage the area as a Geopark.
Have a look at the website for free resources to help you learn about what makes this place so special, or call into the Rock Stop by Unapool to visit the free exhibition. We also organise low cost guided walks and work with the Highlife Highland Ranger service on events.
We are a Social Enterprise and Charity with a vision for the North West Highlands to become a thriving and sustainable rural economy capitalising on the assets and people of the Geopark in partnership with local government, relevant agencies and local businesses. If you live in the Geopark you are entitled to become a member just by registering and have a say on how it's managed.
Organises events, online talks, walks, educational tours, books and leaflets to help you learn more about the local area
